Rehearsal Dinner Tips for a Destination Wedding

Destination Wedding rehearsal dinner celebrations should be held the night before so that everyone can attend.

A destination wedding is a great way to celebrate one of the most important events in your life. For the rehearsal dinner to go well without any hitches, it is best to hire a travel planner who specializes in destination weddings. Apart from planning your special day, it is also part of their job to ensure the events go smoothly. Here are just a few things to consider while planning the rehearsal dinner.

The Destination Wedding Rehearsal Dinner Itinerary

Come to the resort with a prepared itinerary to share with all your guests. This will keep your loved ones updated on their own schedule so they know when they can relax.  You might choose to stick it inside a fun gift bag.  Bring gift items for the group or shop there.  Small gifts can be found in destination once you arrive.

Rehearsal Dinner Guestlist

For traditional weddings, it is customary that only the bridal party attend the rehearsal dinner. For a destination wedding, the guest list is simple.  Everyone traveling to join your event gets invited.  If you are giving giftbags upon arrival, include the invitation.

Other ideas instead of dinner:

You don’t have to host a dinner.  Instead, throw a celebration party!  Choose a themed welcome cocktail (Mexican Fiesta for example with tequila drinks and a burro saddled with Corona).   Here’s an example of a resort that will provide a FREE welcome cocktail for your guests on property.

Other ideas:  have a bonfire on the beach – add in gourmet s’mores with toppings.   Go golfing the day before.  Anything that shows your appreciation and love for the guests who chose to travel with you.  The sky is the limit, since this is your event!   Contact us directly for more fun ideas.
