If you have been lucky enough to be invited to a destination wedding, you probably have a million and one things to think about.  Just don’t leave your outfit to chance.  A destination wedding outfit demands a bit of forethought. We have put together our top three tips to consider when picking out your outfit to a destination wedding on the beach.

Think weather

If you are going somewhere tropical (hot) then a typical structured dress will just make you feel really uncomfortable. We all know that a nice black dress can be completely chic, but it conducts heat and you may find yourself completely overheated! Instead, think about something in a sand or a neutral color, or even go bright. Flowing loose material works best.  If the event is in the evening, bring a shawl just in case.

Men probably do not want to wear a suit.  Unless your invitation requests a tie, opt for cotton or linen pants and a collared shirt.  Shorts are not usually acceptable attire (unless the bridal couple specify).

Think footwear

Assuming you are headed to a resort, you may want to pack stylish but comfy shoes.  Not only will there be lots of walking, probably dancing.  Heels will probably not cut it.  Instead, treat yourself to some gorgeous sandals that will keep you upright all day.  If the reception is on the beach, wear something easy to slip off.

Think Accessories

This applies to both men and women. If it is going to be hot, think ahead and pack a beautiful fan to keep you cool. Jewelry could reflect the country that you have travelled to, or add a pop of color. Whatever you choose have fun with your outfit!
